home inspections

So just what is a home inspection? A home inspection is professional opinion based on a visual evaluation of a home's performance and condition. The content and quality of the inspection and the report vary greatly among inspection companies. As with most every other profession, there is no substitute for experience.

What a home inspection is

  • An onsite evaluation and professional opinion of the condition of the readily accessible components of a home at a given point in time
  • A visual evaluation
  • Intended to identify components that are significantly defective, unsafe, or near the end of their useful life
  • Documented with a written report

What a home inspection is not

  • An insurance policy, guarantee, or warranty on the home
  • An invasive or destructive inspection
  • Intended to identify concealed or hidden defects
  • A code or design review
  • Able to predict the future of any component or condition
  • An environmental review or energy audit

Rest assured we are working for you. Our only interest in the sale of the home is that we provide you with as much accurate information as possible so that you can make an educated decision.

We use a thermal imaging camera on every home inspection and there is no extra fee. Thermal imaging enables us to see things that are not visible to the naked eye. With the use of thermal imaging we are able to detect missing insulation, water leaks, electrical hot spots, and a variety of other problems. While its not "magic" a thermal imaging camera is a vital tool in any reputable inspectors toolbox.
